Exclusive University of Arizona Displays on Loan to Congressional Offices

Nov. 4, 2019

Federal Relations spends a great deal of time in meetings with the AZ Congressional delegation, research agencies and the Administration to advance the priorities of the University. We also like to find creative ways to elevate the University’s profile here in Washington. On Thursday, in collaboration with UA’s Center for Creative Photography, Federal Relations delivered framed black and white photographs to several AZ Members, which will hang in their congressional offices. These images, captured by Ansel Adams and William Fuller, are not the only items on loan to the Hill.

A large Tree Ring Lab display and entomology display have rotated through a few offices, as well as a large display of artifacts from the USS Arizona courtesy of UA’s Special Collections department. Members enjoy the ability to showcase both the university and Arizona and frequently act as tour guides in their own offices by proudly highlighting the loaned items to visitors. The importance of collaboration with our peer universities in Arizona is not lost in this effort - arguably the most popular items on loan to all our Members are the UA, ASU, and NAU football helmets that we jointly provide to each office.
