Dean Hahn Meets With Mesa Industry and Defense Council

As our State Relations team advocates for University of Arizona’s New Economy Initiative at the Legislature, we have been given the opportunity to also meet with various stakeholders, local elected officials, and other community leaders across the state to garner support for these critical proposals.

One of those opportunities included an invitation for Dean Hahn to join the Mesa Industry and Defense Council (MIDC) http://mesaindustryanddefense.com/ for one of their monthly meetings. MIDC is a network of industry leaders in sectors such as Defense, Aerospace, Mining, Energy, Construction and Information Technology. Dean Hahn presented the latest updates within the College of Engineering, the exciting prospect of growth in the field of hypersonics, and the proposed School of Mining.

There was strong enthusiasm within the attendees to partner with UArizona in growing their workforce pipeline of engineers and other degrees. Also, there was a desire to support UArizona’s legislative priorities as they continue through the process.
