  • Almost 50,000 doses of vaccine are expected to arrive in Pima County next week.  This exceeds last week’s allotment by over 9,000 doses. The UA State POD’s capacity continues to grow as the vaccine supply in our community grows.
  • At the moment I am writing this message, vaccine appointments at the UA POD next week are currently available for eligible people.   We are now serving those aged 65+ and the other 1A and prioritized 1B community members.
  • According to AZDHS, in Pima County 199,117 people, 19.1%, have received at least one dose of vaccine.  The County has now administered over 307,000 doses!
  • We are working with the State, Pima County and local education leadership to help assure all remaining K-12 educators seeking vaccine can get it this week.
  • For several weeks we have been working closely with Pima County on options for a commencement experience for our graduating students.

  • Our case numbers remain extremely low.  Over the past 10 days – 34 new cases out of 15,325 tests, .2% positivity rate.

(We only test a few dorm students on the weekends, which is why yesterday’s number of tests is low.)

  • The Rt in the 85719 zip code is .61.  Pima County’s Rt is .63, and Arizona’s is .65. We keep a close eye on this data, despite knowing that our zip code encompasses far more than just the university.
