UArizona Continues Delivering PPE to Arizona Tribal Communities

This month Senior Vice President Levi Esquerra organized and delivered PPE to the White Mountain Apache Tribe and the Yavapai Apache Nation in Camp Verde.  In addition to the PPE and COVID test kits delivered to Arizona tribes in 2020, the University of Arizona has delivered PPE shipments to the following tribes this year:

Colorado River Indian Tribes

Fort Mojave

Hopi Tribe

Pascua Yaqui

San Carlos Apache

Tohono O'odham

White Mountain Apache

Yavapai Apache

In addition, UArizona is working with the Pascua Yaqui Nation to develop an intergovernmental agreement that will allow UArizona to properly store COVID vaccines the tribe will receive from the federal government. Without this option, the tribe was choosing between purchasing an expensive freezer unit or otherwise having to find an alternative storage facility.
