Supreme Court Justice Breyer Announces Retirement

After more than two decades of service, Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer announced his retirement which will take effect at the Court’s summer recess. The Senate will need to confirm a replacement, adding yet more work to an already full congressional calendar. President Biden pledged during his campaign to nominate a Black woman to the Court if he were given an opportunity.
