House Passes America COMPETES Act

The House passed the America COMPETES Act last Thursday, a little over a week after introduction of the nearly-3,000-page bill. While the goal of the legislation is to advance U.S.-based manufacturing, the bill and amendments included a number of provisions related to higher education, including the text of the controversial College Transparency Act which requires the creation of a student-level database.
