FY22 Appropriations Bill Passes Congress
March 16, 2022
More than five months after the end of Fiscal Year (FY) 2021, Congress was able to get a FY 2022 bill over the finish line and to the President’s desk just as another potential government shutdown loomed. The most recent Continuing Resolution (CR) expired March 11, however Congress was obligated to pass another short-term CR through March 15 to give the legislation time to get to the White House. The nearly 3,000-page omnibus bill was introduced early Wednesday morning and voted on by the House later that day, and the Senate on Thursday. President Biden is expected to sign the $1.5 trillion bill into law next week.
