The Arizona Legislature Introduces a “Continuation Budget;” Veto Expected

This week the House and Senate Republicans introduced a series of budget bills that funds the FY24 state budget at the same base level funding as FY23 (ie. does not include FY23 one-time dollars). The budget is being referred to as a “continuation budget” or “skinny budget." The continuation budget does not include any of the priorities Governor Hobbs recommended in her budget proposal released on January 13. Lawmakers and observers fully expect Governor Hobbs to veto this budget if it makes it to her desk.
