Arizona Water Deep Dive

The University of Arizona Office of Federal Relations, Water Resources Research Center, and Office of Native American Advancement and Tribal Engagement partnered together to develop Arizona Water Deep Dive, a one-day policy issue forum for congressional staff to learn about the state of water in Arizona. Featured speakers included Stefanie Smallhouse, President, Arizona Farm Bureau; Crystal Tulley-Cordova, Principal Hydrologist, Navajo Nation; Joshua Moore, Farm Manager, Colorado River Indian Tribes; Deputy Commissioner of Operations, Bureau of Reclamation; and others from Central Arizona Project, the University of Arizona, Gila River Indian Community, and the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs. 

 

Topics included current water usage in Arizona; challenges facing Arizona tribal communities and the agriculture sector; current trends and innovative solutions for our water future. The event took place in the Capitol Visitor Center beneath the U.S. Capitol
