Community Engaged Colleagues meeting features Arizona Athletics

U of A Vice President and Director of Athletics Desireé Reed-Francois addresses Community Engaged Colleagues in the Jim Click Hall of Champions.

Members of Community Relations’ network of Community Engaged Colleagues were treated to a visit fromVice President and Director of Athletics Desireé Reed-Francois at their monthly meeting on April 16. She delivered an inspiring and informative overview of the Athletics Department’s community engagement efforts. Her remarks were followed by a productive discussion on building mutually beneficial partnerships between Arizona Athletics and the broader university community to better serve Southern Arizona.

A recent collaboration between the U of A Women’s Soccer team and Arizona Arts Live featured the Australian performing arts company Circa, which showcased the power of cross-campus partnerships. Women’s Soccer and Circa trained together and attended each other’s performances, creating a unique and inspiring cultural exchange.

Bear Down Takeover Tour – The Bear Down Takeover Tour is currently underway and coming to Wildcat Nation. The tour includes head coaches, student-athletes and athletics staff along with Wilbur and Wilma at select stops all over the state to interact with fans and celebrate Wildcat spirit. Registration is required for all free events, so please REGISTER HERE. Events are scheduled through mid-May.

Men’s football and basketball season tickets – Did you know? Faculty and staff receive a 10% discount on men’s football and basketball season tickets. Purchases are limited to two per person. Community Engaged Colleagues are representatives who actively engage with the community through service, outreach, teaching and research. The gathering provides a valuable platform to share updates and collaborate on strategies to enhance our collective community impact.
