Community leaders tour UA Mirror Lab

The Community Relations team collaborated with colleagues from the College of Science to host numerous community leaders from diverse public and private sectors on a tour of the Richard F. Caris Mirror Laboratory located beneath Arizona Stadium. This remarkable tour was led by Steward Observatory Director Buell Jannuzi, who detailed how the mirrors produced at the Mirror Lab are revolutionizing ground-based astronomy. The attendees observed most of the seven 8.4-meter segmented mirrors at various production stages. The mirrors are destined for the Giant Magellan Telescope.
