Julie Katsel, Assistant Vice President for Local Community Relations, welcomes attendees to a community partner breakfast meeting to promote regional economic development and tour the new Applied Research Building.

On December 12, the Community Relations team organized a gathering of community leaders to delve into the topic of economic development. As part of an ongoing series addressing critical issues facing our community, this event facilitated an engaging panel discussion featuring economic development experts from various entities including the Arizona Commerce Authority, Pima County, City of Tucson, private sector representatives and the University. The panel explored the array of economic opportunities before us and emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration. Held within the new Applied Research Building, attendees had the opportunity to tour the cutting-edge facility, witnessing firsthand the advanced equipment and technologies utilized in advancing research across fields such as optics, manufacturing, space exploration and more.
