Connecting neighbors to UA Research
Community Relations hosted the Campus Community Relations Committee (CCRC) for its monthly meeting and connected the group with Dr. Mona Arora, who serves as the principal investigator for the Southwest Center on Resilience for Climate Change and Health (SCORCH). Dr. Arora shared information on how UA researchers are working directly with the City of Tucson and the Pima County Health Department to prevent heat-related health risks.
The CCRC is a group that was established in the 1980s to bring together representatives from the City of Tucson, Banner University Medical Center, the UA and the 10 neighborhood associations surrounding campus for the purpose of promoting livable communities in the university area. If your department, unit or college has information that is relevant to this group and would be interested in presenting at a future meeting, please contact Karen Sanson at karensanson@arizona.edu.
