GCR attends Westmarc Economic Development Summit
UA was well-represented at Westmarc’s 2024 Economic Development Summit, which focused on Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The event featured keynote speakers and presentations on push vs. pull innovation, the impact of small business on local economies, examples of private and public sector collaboration and entrepreneurial success stories. Westmarc is a public-private partnership of 15 local communities, businesses and educational institutions in the West Valley of the Greater Phoenix area. UA representatives attending the event included Sara Fleury and Jane Surgent with GCR, Greg Hitt with Economic & Community Development, Bailey Lloyd with Eller and Mark Strickling with the UA Foundation. Guests were Rochell Planty and Farrah Smith with the AZ AG Education and FFA Foundation, Victoria Okula with Senator Sinema’s office and Ben Marquez with Higher Living Real Estate.
