The GCR team hosted a table at the 53rd annual Assistance League of Phoenix (ALP) Celebration of Caring gala. ALP raises money to provide clothing and essential supplies for pre-K through 8th grade students attending Title I schools in the metropolitan Phoenix area through its Operation School Bell. The annual event generates nearly half of the organization’s operating budget. Students who benefit from ALP’s “Delivering Dreams” buses are treated to basic needs that help boost their self-esteem - a week’s worth of new school clothes, shoes, jackets and books. Many of these children have never worn anything “new.” By fulfilling the basic needs of these kids, ALP helps ensure they come to school ready to learn, setting them on a positive path toward high school and post-secondary education.
