President Robbins Meets with Governor Hobbs and Addresses Legislative Committees

Jan. 24, 2023

President Robbins spent several days over the last two weeks advocating for the University of Arizona at the State Capitol.  After Governor Hobbs delivered her State of the State Address in Tucson, President Robbins sat down with the Governor to discuss how the two can work together over the next four years.  Although President Robbins has met multiple times with Hobbs, this is the first time they have been able to meet in her official role as Arizona's Governor.

On January 17 and January 18, President Robbins addressed the Senate Committee on Appropriations and the House Committee on Appropriations, respectively. President Robbins updated lawmakers on previous New Economy Initiative (NEI) investments, and stressed the importance of continued state investments to the university, specifically Promise scholarships, NEI funding, and TRIF funding.
