Community Relations

The Community Relations team had a great week representing the University at important community events. The Eller College of Management’s annual Breakfast with the Economists, held this year on June 5, is one of the most anticipated events of the year. We were pleased to host staff from a congressional office, the governor's office, a county supervisor’s office, and the Pima County Economic Development office, the Pima County School Superintendent's Office and the Tucson Metro Chamber. The economic news was mixed, with the bottom line being that Arizona, Phoenix and Tucson are all on track to grow. See highlights on the Eller website.

Community Relations also attended the community party marking the retirement of Michael Ortega, who became Tucson's city manager in 2015. We have worked closely with Mike for many years and will miss his steady hand at the city.
