U of A represented at annual Yavapai Cattle Growers Association signature event
Jane Hays of Government and Community Relations, along with the Yavapai County Cooperative Extension team, attended the 92nd annual Yavapai Cattle Growers Association BBQ & Calf Sale in Peeples Valley, Arizona. The daylong event, held at the picturesque Maughan Ranches, featured vendor booths and a youth mutton-busting event (kids racing sheep), barbeque and calf sale. A portion of the proceeds goes toward Yavapai Cattle Growers Association education scholarships. Attending the event were Arizona Rep. Selena Bliss and Arizona Sen. Ken Bennett, both of Legislative District 1. Also in attendance were Arizona Department of Agriculture Director Paul Brierley, U of A Cooperative Extension Associate Director Ethan Orr, Yavapai County Manager Maury L. Thompson and Yavapai County District 2 Supervisor James Gregory.
