UA Cares celebrates a year of service with Habitat for Humanity project
Community Relations gathered campus volunteers for a Habitat for Humanity project to celebrate the end of another successful year of UA Cares initiatives. Volunteers worked alongside our honorary chairs, Dr. Brian Mayer and Hope Noriega, who led our four initiatives for the year and inspired the campus community. The team constructed seven walls during the build and was joined by a single mother of three, who will be the recipient of her own home through Habitat for Humanity.
Over the past year, volunteers have completed eight community service projects, raised more than $200,000 for charity, collected enough blood products to save up to 576 lives, brought in thousands of pounds of nonperishable food donations to fight hunger and distributed more than $23,000 to colleagues facing financial hardships.
