Community Relations worked with volunteers across campus to kick off another year of UA Cares initiatives on campus. UA Cares is a set of initiatives that help U of A staff, faculty and students address community needs throughout the year. Campus leaders gathered in the lower level of the newly renovated Campus Store to network with representatives of more than 30 local nonprofits to find ways to give back to the community this year, and heard from UA Cares Honorary Chair Lovely Ganthier, an accountant in the Laboratory of Tree-Ring Research, who was selected to help lead this year's UA Cares activities based on her own history of service to the local nonprofit community.

UA Cares Ambassadors also recently celebrated a successful Red Cross blood drive, which brought in enough blood donations to help or save nearly 200 lives in our local hospitals. For more information on how to engage with UA Cares this year, contact Nick Hilton at hilton@arizona.edu
