U.S. Senator Kyrsten Sinema and the State Society of Arizona Host Defense Supply Chain Panel

On January 25, the State Society of Arizona teamed up with U.S. Senator Kyrsten Sinema to host a Defense Supply Chain panel discussion in Washington, DC. The event was held in conjunction with the release of a white paper from the Arizona Defense and Industry Coalition, who co-sponsored the event. The white paper centers on the US’s need for a secure domestic supply chain of critical minerals to ensure our national security, as well as Arizona’s role in fulfilling that objective. Dr. David Hahn, Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Arizona, and Kray Luxbacher, head of the Department of Mining and Geological Engineering, contributed to the paper on the UA’s capabilities in mining workforce training and research.
