Adam Fountaine
Adam Fountaine serves as the Director of Federal Relations at the University of Arizona. In this role, he advocates for the university’s institutional priorities on Capitol Hill and works with campus partners, national associations and external stakeholders to provide strategic counsel to university leadership on a broad range of federal policy issues.
Adam brings nearly 12 years of experience in public policy and higher education to the role. He spent more than six years in the U.S. Senate, where he served in a range of roles—including Law Clerk, Legislative Assistant, and Senior Legislative Counsel. His policy work focused on judiciary and telecommunications issues, spanning a broad spectrum of complex and cross-cutting topics including civil rights, public safety, technology, intellectual property and judicial nominations.
He began his career in higher education, working for over five years in student affairs roles focused on off-campus engagement, town-gown relations, and campus safety. Adam holds a B.A. in History from Penn State University, an M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of Connecticut and a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law.
