GCR Update

Last week the University of Arizona POD had just hit 75,000 vaccine doses administered.  Today we expect to exceed 100,000!

As our State Relations team advocates for University of Arizona’s New Economy Initiative at the Legislature, we have been given the opportunity to also meet with various stakeholders, local elected officials, and other community leaders across the state to garner support for these critical proposals.

The University of Arizona’s psychologists licensure bill HB 2561 passed unanimously out of the Senate Health and Human Services committee last week. An effort to allow community colleges to offer four-year degree programs in Arizona has also advanced.

On March 22 the Governor announced that registration at Arizona’s state-operated COVID-19 vaccination sites in Maricopa, Pima and Yuma counties will be open to all Arizonans 16 and older. The state site in Pima County is being operated by the University of Arizona. 

UArizona's State POD has now exceeded 75,000 vaccine doses administered.  In Pima County 250,944 people, 24.0%, have received at least one dose of vaccine.
