GCR Update

Government and Community Relations led the charge to bring UA 4 Food back to campus this year – and thanks to the generosity of our campus community – we were successful in making this the most successful year on record.

The University of Arizona has been nominated for three separate awards to recognize us for our charitable giving campaign known as UA Cares.

U.S. Representative Andy Biggs of Arizona’s 5th Congressional District joined our College of Nursing faculty and government affairs team for a tour of the University of Arizona’s Gilbert site.

Last week the Arizona legislature advanced several bills that will benefit programs within the University of Arizona that are distinct to our land grant mission.

President Biden announced his intent to appoint several individuals to serve as members on the President's Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities.  Gabriel "Gabe" Martinez, Project Coordinator at the University of Arizona Sonoran Center for Excellence in Disabilities, is one of 21 citizens being appointed to the committee. 

Senator Kelly’s staff visited the University of Arizona’s agrivoltaics test site at Tucson’s Manzo Elementary School.

UA’s Senior Vice President of Research and Innovation made visits to the Arizona congressional delegation in Washington, DC last week.
